Does your dog:

  • Pull on the lead?

  • Bark excessively?

  • Display anxiety when left alone?

  • Soil in the house?

  • Bite?

  • Show aggression?

  • Have phobias?

  • Jump up at you?

Helping you to understand why your dog is behaving in a manner that is unacceptable in a human environment.

Amichien Bonding

What is Amichien Bonding?

It is a holistic method of working with our canine friends, based on kindness and cooperation. After years of research Jan Fennell devised ‘Amichien’ (French for ‘friend’ = ami & ‘dog’ = ‘chien’).

Why does it work?

Like wolves, dogs follow a strict code of hierarchy and owners must mimic the behaviour of an alpha wolf to become a leader. Many owners are unaware of this code, sending out mixed messages as to who is in charge, leaving their dog no choice but to assume the role as leader. It is then that owners perceive their dogs to be behaving badly and not just as a leader!

Owners becoming leaders.

It is obvious that a dog cannot successfully manage a household. If a dog is elected as a leader in a world that is confusing to him (our homes), then his reactions to our daily events are portrayed as bad behaviour, this will cause the dog to become stressed which will then increase unwanted behaviour such as:

  • Excessive barking

  • Lead pulling

  • Tail chasing

  • Chewing household objects

  • Aggression

  • Inability to relax

How will Amichien Bonding help?

By consistently following the four key elements to Amichien Bonding, you will be communicating with your dog on a level that they naturally understand. Showing your dog that you are a leader and in fact there to protect them, will remove the stress of leadership from your dog and allow it to relax. In return, the problem behaviours will naturally subside.

Amichien Bonding can work for every dog in any situation as long as it is followed confidently, calmly and most of all consistently everyday.

Consultations

Only one consultation is required which will last between 2 to 3 hours. This will take place in your own home where your dog will exhibit his/her natural behaviour in his/her own environment.

A home consultation also allows the consultant to see the unwanted behaviour as well as the interaction between the dog and family members.  The consultation is a tutorial in canine communication for the owner and family members. It is not a training session for your dog. A free back up service is provided after the consultation if there is any doubt throughout the stages of key elements.
